So if you did not know already it is Spring Break or at least the end of it. I had so many plans to make this break fun but instead i spent it at home with my family. Don't get me wrong I love my family it's just that after awhile they get a little crazy. I mean there is a reason I pick a school so far away from home. Anyways, my family had a big influence on me picking my career choice of becoming a teacher. Everyone, except my dad, works or had worked in education. Both of my grandparents were deans of multiple colleges across Maricopa county and they both had a hand in creating the on-line education world we see today. My mom has worked for the local community college in my home town for as long as I can remember. She right now works for the nursing program working on getting some of the best nurses into hospitals across the country. So as you can see teaching/education is kind of in my blood. The reason i picked high school though is because of my uncle. My uncle Warren works for a high school in California and every summer for the last couple years I would go visit him. Since Arizona schools got out before California schools when I would arrive he would still be teaching for another week or two, so I would go with him to work. That was when I saw that teaching   was a strong probability for me. I loved the way the students interacted with him and how he would teach keeping everyone interested in the topic was amazing to watch, I wanted to be just like him. That was how I knew teaching was for me.

Day one!
March 12, 2015
I personally have never really been good at writing down my thoughts, emotions, or anything related to the two, so thats why I have been hesitate to start writing a blog. When I think of a blog I think of an online diary or journal, something someone has taken the time to write their thoughts, emotions, opinions, and experiences. I am just not that kind of a person, but I can try. As of right now my thoughts are consumed with names, dates and revolutions from the South during Reconstruction after the Civil War. This is mainly because in T-minus two hours I will be taking that midterm. I do not like tests that determine your grade like midterms do, mostly because I am the worst test taker ever. I can talk your ear off about the subject but you put formulated questions about the same subject in front of me and all of that information escapes me. When it comes to my emotions about today I mixed feelings. I have come down with a sinus infection which is killing me because I am the biggest baby when I am sick, but on the other, hand I get to go home right after that dreaded midterm so I will get to see me family which makes me unbelievably happy. I cannot wait for this day to be over! Anyways back to the real reason I am sharing all of this information none really needed to know is because I am taking a class at the University of Arizona about Learning though Technology and the question I should be answering is are blogs helpful in education, I honesty think like anything else if they are used correctly it can be useful. I feel like blogs could be used as a tool because they let you share your thoughts freely but that could also be a bad thing if not regulated. So as I said if the right guidelines are in place blogs could be used for good in education.
